Information
On November 14th, 2015, the Ottawa Sport Council will host Overcoming the Funding Hurdle in Community Sport, the second annual Sport Summit, in Lansdowne Park’s Horticulture Building. Featuring special guest Mayor Jim Watson and featured speaker local sports journalist Ian Mendes, this year’s edition will teach community sport leaders how to find and secure funding opportunities. Registration is now open.
Does your organization have an ambitious idea in need of financial support? As a highlight of this year’s event, registrants who submit their project details by November 4th will be considered for a valuable mentorship opportunity, and the best three pitches will be announced on the day of the summit. If your organization is selected, you will work with a world-class sport and business leader who can provide the advisory support you need to bring your idea to life.
Don’t have a specific project to pitch? The mentorship opportunity is just one of a full slate of sport-themed activities scheduled throughout the day, from a silent auction to a scavenger hunt. You will learn a lot—and you will stay engaged.
The Ottawa Sport Council is proud to host and facilitate the Sport Summit free of charge. It is strongly suggested that attendees consider a minimum $30 donation to the Ottawa Sport Council Foundation Endowment Fund—established to provide funding opportunities for community sport organizations. Tax receipts will be provided.
The Sport Summit was held Saturday, November 14th, 2015, from 8:15 am – 4:15 pm. Click here for more details.
