Information
The Ottawa Sport Council (OSC) is pleased to announce its sixth Sport Summit on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Nepean Sailing Club.
Sport should be available and responsive to the needs of all Canadian residents who want to participate (source). As an organization that strives to create and nurture sport environments that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, culture, income level and ability, the Ottawa Sport Council is proud to focus its next Sport Summit on the topic of inclusivity.
Hosted in partnership with Abilities Centre Ottawa and Ausome Ottawa, the Spring Sport Summit will provide guidance and leadership on how we can make our sport programs more inclusive to all citizens of Ottawa, from every background.
Facilitated by local business leader Julien LeBlanc, this spring’s Sport Summit gives attendees the chance to learn from local subject matter experts about how to create an inclusive atmosphere in your sport program. The Summit will include a main tent session, panel and roundtable discussions. Lunch will be provided. New this year, we will also be offering an optional afternoon workshop which will focus on specific strategies to improve inclusivity.
As always, one of the Sport Summit’s goals will be to create dialogue between attendees. You’ll get the chance to collaborate with peers and learn from the experiences of others that are trying to make the local sport community more inclusive for all participants.

This is a free event. We do ask participants to consider making a minimum $30 donation to the Ottawa Sport Council Foundation. The Ottawa Sport Council Foundation has been created to provide sporting organizations with grants to improve inclusion in sport. Tax receipts will be provided.
