Information

The Ottawa Sport Council is pleased host a webinar regarding mental health crisis support and resources in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This webinar, presented by our partners at Ottawa Public Health, has been tailored for the Ottawa community sport sector.

Join the Mental Health, Crisis Support & Resources Webinar on Tuesday April 12 at 18:30.

This webinar is intended for members of community sport in Ottawa as the return to sport begins, and organizations look to support participants, coaches, volunteers, and staff following the pandemic.

For the last two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a great source of stress. Feelings of isolation, fear, and for some, financial insecurity due to the loss of employment were caused by the pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns. Now, more than ever, it is important for us to take care of our mental health and support the mental health of those around us. During the workshop, Mental Health, Crisis Support & Resources, you will learn about mental health, mental illness, and the status of Mental Health in Ottawa during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  You will gain insight into how to talk about mental health, strategies for crisis and suicide prevention, and how to foster resilience. You will also gain insight into self-care activities and the mental health and substance use health resources available in your community.

The Mental Health, Crisis Support & Resources webinar, hosted by the Ottawa Sport Council and  presented by Ottawa Public Health, will support community sport organizations as they return to sport.
