Celebrating Volunteers at the Ottawa Sport Summit
On November 26, 2016 the Ottawa Sport Council will host the third annual Ottawa Sport Summit, in Lansdowne Park’s Horticulture Building. Featuring a panel of guest speakers, this year’s edition will focus on learning about, and celebrating, sport volunteerism in Ottawa.

The Canada Games Council announced September 12 that Ottawa is among the cities advancing to the second phase of the bid process to host the 2021 Canada Summer Games.

HIRING- Marketing, Communications and Event Coordinator – SUMMER STUDENT
The Marketing, Communications and Event Coordinator will create and deliver an awareness campaign to highlight the support offered by the Ottawa Sport Council to community sporting organizations and to promote the Ottawa Sport Council Sport Summit. Activities will include writing of articles, newsletters, press releases, and success stories as well as development of the communication plan for the Ottawa Sport Summit.
Practicing Safe Sport
As Canadians, we endure cold and often long winters, waiting for months for the warm weather to finally peak its head out. Although we have an abundance of great indoor facilities here in the Nation’s Capital, there really is nothing like being able to play the sports we love in the fresh, open air.
Ottawa Sport Council Foundation Awards First Recipient of Charitable Endowment Fund
The Ottawa Sport Council Foundation is thrilled to announce its first Charitable Endowment Fund recipient – the Gloucester Dragons Recreational Soccer Club. The Dragons were awarded $1500 by the True Sport Foundation to support development of their Partners in Play program. The award will help create a new weekly program, in collaboration with Special Olympics Ontario, to teach children ages 7-12 with intellectual disabilities to play soccer.
