The City of Ottawa is known for its active running community. With the various trails, tracks and outdoor venues, runners have an abundance of choice when it comes to where they hit the pavement. What sometimes poses trouble however is WHEN to run.

It may be the recent Toronto Blue Jays run at the World Series, but Ottawa (and Canada in general) is buzzing about baseball. We took at brief look at Canadian baseball history and its impact on our local sports scene.

Registration is now open for the fall 2015 Ottawa Sport Council webinar series – October and November 2015. Hosted by the Ottawa Sport Council, this fall webinar series has been created based on feedback from local sport organizations.

With September upon us, the kids are back to school and life seems a bit more scheduled. New registration for the Fall/Winter season of many clubs and sports is well under way! With an abundance of sport activities to choose from in our beautiful city of Ottawa, how do you decide?

The Ottawa Sport Council (OSC) is pleased to announce that we will be holding our second annual Sport Summit on Saturday, November 14th at the Horticulture Building, Lansdowne Park.

Over the past decade, the world of sport and sports marketing has shifted drastically. What was once billboard ads, traditional media coverage of sporting events, even “word of mouth” has changed to websites, email newsletters and social media platforms. These changes have enabled us to reach a broader audience and get our news out faster.

One of the best ways to explore the City of Ottawa is by bicycle. There are over 600 kilometres of bike paths in Canada’s Capital Region, allowing you to incorporate a healthy and active lifestyle every day. A beautiful tour awaits you on the Capital Pathway Network, which was designed to take advantage of the green and natural areas in Canada’s Capital Region.
