Rebound, a free 6-part program is being offered with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund.
Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Chalk Talk
Community sport organizations have had to adapt existing volunteer recruitment and retention practices to deal with the realities of the pandemic. Given 73% of Ottawa community sport organizations are volunteer run, volunteer management is critical to ensure that organizations remain viable.
Facilitated by Dina Bell-Laroche of the Sport Law and Strategy Group, the Volunteer Recruitment and Retention CHALK TALK will guide participants in the development of creative solutions to govern, lead and manage community sport organizations in a post pandemic reality. Participants will leave with enhanced volunteer management strategies and practices that support the recovery and regrowth of their community sport organization.
What’s on the agenda:
• Learn more about the current state of volunteer recruitment and retention in community sport as a result of the ongoing pandemic
• Explore key volunteer recruitment concepts including the 5 R’s – recruit, retain, re-train, reward, and retire
• Discuss innovative strategies to navigate volunteer recruitment in our current environment and moving forward
Registration:
During the Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Chalk Talk , we will be inviting open conversation among participants. To ensure all participants have the opportunity to share their experiences, registration will be limited to 20 participants. The Chalk Talk will be conducted via Zoom meeting with use of breakout rooms, open discussion, and other virtual meeting tools.
This is a free virtual event. The same full day workshop will be offered on 2 separate dates in English only. Please register for 1 of the 2 available dates.
Dates: April 20 & 22
Time: 8:30-15:00 with a break for lunch (12:00 to 13:00)
We hope you will join us for this valuable learning opportunity.
