The Ottawa Sport Excellence Campaign has CLOSED.
Thank you for your interest and participation in our first online ideas, or crowdsourcing, campaign. Over 500 people took the time to share their thoughts with new ideas, comments on existing ideas, and casting votes for their favourite ideas
The ideas, comments and votes will analyzed and used as input into the development of the City of Ottawa Municipal Sport Strategy. We will then reach out again to the community in the autumn of 2013 to share what we have learned.
We encourage you to remain connected to this project. If you wish to receive updates, please contact us at [email protected].
Ottawa Sport Excellence Campaign Background
The City of Ottawa is working in partnership with the Ottawa Sport Council to develop a Municipal Sport Strategy in 2013-2014 to provide guidelines and recommendations on how to create a relevant, accessible “sport for all” service delivery model and define the City’s role in sport development
Ottawa offers a wealth of strength in sport – including its great outdoor spaces, a four season climate which facilitates a diverse array of sport choices, and a vast volunteer base who support sport in many capacities. At the same time, Ottawa has challenges which if addressed will lead to sport excellence.
From June 28 to July 19, 2013 we asked you to vote or comment on existing ideas, or post your own idea to these central questions:
What are Ottawa’s Top 5 sport assets, strengths or opportunities which contribute to Sport Excellence?
What are Ottawa’s Top 5 sport deficits, weaknesses or challenges which need to be addressed?
