Their Opportunity is a national children’s charity that delivers and subsidizes community sport and engagement programming to eliminate barriers of access and empower youth to reach their full potential through sport.  We are pleased to announce that the grant window for the 2024 Ottawa Sport Council Foundation Community Opportunity Grant is now open. We will be awarding two grants of up to $2,000 each for inclusive sport programs.
Trying a New Sport This Spring

Spring is also a time of year where several community sport organizations start their season. New seasons present opportunities to try a new sport.
In Support of Local Sport
The OSC Board of Directors has approved a new, 3-year strategic plan. It lays out an ambitious collection of services and programs to meet the needs of the local amateur sport community through three delivery streams- Champion, Educate, Connect.

COMMUNITY SPORT HERO

Emily Glossop – Executive Director, Abilities Ottawa

Emily Glossop – Executive Director, Abilities Ottawa

"Emily and her team at Abilities Ottawa have been instrumental in bringing about awareness of adaptive sport and recreation in the Ottawa area. We had the privilege of working with Emily as we worked to establish an Adaptive Sport and Recreation program for students with disabilities at Carleton University. Emily helped spearhead the initiative on the ground by identifying local community sport leaders, equipment and other logistics which ultimately led to the program's success. Emily and her team are also the driving force behind the 3rd annual Ottawa Inclusive & Para Sports Expo which enables attendees to learn about Para and Inclusive sports in the community." – Jonathan Wood, Chief Engagement Officer, Toronto Accessible Sports Council
