These age recommendations are set with each sport provider to help create the best possible experience for participants. I don’t have the required equipment for a session… What should I do?
If you don’t have the required equipment for a session, here are a few options: Check the session description to see what is provided – many activities supply equipment. Ask family, friends, or neighbours if they have equipment you can borrow. If this option applies to you make sure the equipment fits properly so your child can participate effectively. Contact the sport organization directly to ask if they have any equipment available to borrow. You can also check out the Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library for options.
What should I wear/bring?
Come ready to move! Comfortable athletic clothing and running shoes are strongly recommended, along with a filled water bottle. For outdoor activities, please dress for the weather and consider bringing items such as a jacket, hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Be sure to check your session description for any additional items necessary.
What if the weather is bad?

Is there a waiver I need to fill out in advance of my sessions?
Yes. As a part of the registration process, there is a waiver you agree to. There will be additional waivers provided on site for things such as media release, liability etc.
If there are any individual sport related waivers, where can I find them?
Some activities may require a short-specific waiver to be completed before participation. In some cases, these waivers will be shared in advance by email or included in session details. If not, they will be available on-site. Please arrive early to allow time to complete any required forms.
Do I have to stay with my child during their session?
Yes, this is a requirement. In addition to seeing your child discover a new sport, you will have an opportunity to connect with the instructors and volunteers from the sport organizations to learn about potential future programming opportunities for your child.
I don’t want any photos taken of me (or my child). Can I decline the media release?
Yes, there will be a media release form to be completed on-site at the event. This will allow you to accept or decline the media release.
What time should I arrive on site?
