2015 Ottawa Sport Summit Agenda

On November 14th, 2015, the Ottawa Sport Council will host its Second Annual Sport Summit, Overcoming the Funding Hurdle in Community Sport, with special guest Mayor Jim Watson. The event was created to provide local community sport organizations with an opportunity to network, learn, and discuss relevant issues.

Registration starts at 8:15, sessions will kick off at 8:45.

Overcoming the Funding Hurdle in Community Sport will again be hosted by Julien Leblanc, President of Blueprint Management Consultants North America, a consulting firm specializing in strategy and leadership.

Summit Speakers include:

  • Ian Mendes – Sports Broadcaster at TSN Radio Ottawa

With consideration to your feedback, we’ve packed the day with as many learning and networking opportunities as possible—all designed to help you secure resources for your organization.

The Sport Summit will kick off with a keynote address from Mayor Watson and a draw for 2 Club Bell Ottawa Senators Hockey Tickets.

Learn about The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Funding your Sport Ideas and get some tips from both the experts and your peers. Become versed in Crowdfunding and understand its benefits and pitfalls.  Discover innovative solutions from organizations supporting the local sport community. Participate in the sport themed scavenger hunt through Lansdowne Park and win the opportunity to see the 2016 Tim Hortons Brier at TD Place, Ottawa.  Join in the roundtable discussion regarding innovative approaches to funding.

And don’t forget – if your organization has an ambitious idea in need of financial support, registrants who submit their project details by November 4th will be considered for a valuable mentorship – the opportunity to work with a world-class sport and business leader who can provide the advisory support you need to bring your idea to life. The best three pitches will be announced on the day of the summit.

The day will conclude at 4:15 p.m. with a reception at Milestones following.
